“This is the story of four Potomitan women from the Caribbean, where matriarchy is a family pattern that we encounter very often, and has been for decades.
The expression, of Guyanese origin, literally the mitan post, designates the central post in the voodoo temple around which people dance and place offerings.
The so-called Potomitan women are therefore strong women, physically and morally, who know how to be respected and who are, a priori, not afraid of
responsibilities.”
